Kwan Lau Wins WSOP's Biggest PLO Event

Another WSOP 2023 high roller event came to a close as Ka Kwan Lau finally cleared his years of thorns to claim a seven-figure cash.

Event #57 $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha featured 449 bonus entrants and became a record-breaking tournament. Its format features a prize pool of $10,551,500 shared among the top 68 players.

Kwan Lau, better known by his online nickname kaju85, is one of the most feared players in PLO tournaments, both on the virtual and live tables. He came within a point of his first gold bracelet in the same event on Wednesday night, a victory he sealed two years later. Now, he can pose next to a photo of the champion and the accompanying $2,294,756.

“I feel really good. I feel like I missed something and now it’s done. I’m happy about it. I came here two years ago to win a bracelet. My secret is to play a lot. I love poker and I put a lot of pressure on it,” he said with a broad smile.

At the other end of the spectrum, Armada Latin America also managed to break through the box office, with Yuri Dzivielevski becoming the region’s best representative, reaching $68,722 in the 25-79 prize pool.

Other great players on the international scene have added cash prizes, such as Isaac Haxtonstrong (11 – $126,938) or Chad Evslage(18 – $82,754).

Ka Kwan Lau has won the @WSOP $25,000 PLO High Roller, accomplishing what he failed to do two years ago.

Kwan Lau nearly doubled his live tournament earnings and won $2,294,756 and his first gold bracelet, according to @TheHendonMob.
